What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and provide information to website owners.
Cookies and browser storage used by SteamRev
- Staff authentication: authentication cookies keep invited staff signed in. Sessions are configured for seven days and can be renewed during use. Public research does not require an account.
- Comparison selection: local storage under
steamrev.comparison.v1saves selected game IDs and names in this browser. It has no automatic expiry. Use Clear comparison or remove this site’s browser data to clear it. - Hosting and security: Cloudflare may set security cookies depending on the checks applied to a visit. External Steam and PlayRev pages have their own policies.
SteamRev does not currently provide a cookie-settings panel. Browser site-data controls let you inspect, block or remove cookies and local storage.
Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete specific cookies or all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies
Site-data controls
Use your browser’s site-data controls to manage stored data. Clearing it signs staff out and removes saved comparison selections.
Note: Disabling certain cookies may impact the functionality of our website. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the site to work properly.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, there is no industry standard for handling DNT signals, and our website does not respond differently to DNT signals.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
